Counselling
By talking to someone who is not a friend or a
relative, you can be listened to in confidence and in a non-judgemental way.
Sometimes all a client needs is the release of ‘getting something off their
chest’.
You will be helped to explore and express your
own feelings. Frequently it is by recognising your own feelings that
you can come to understand yourself and thereby be helped to find your own
way forward.
As a primarily person-centred counsellor, I
will not be telling you what you should think or do, but helping you to see
things and your feelings more clearly in order to then be able to take
control yourself and find your own solutions to your difficulties.
Techniques such as assertiveness training,
anger management, EFT, visualisation and relaxation methods are used where
appropriate to help you to improve your situation.
