Frequently Asked Questions

Will I be able to be hypnotised?

Virtually everyone can be hypnotised, although some people can relax go into trance more easily than others.

Will I lose Control in hypnosis?

Regardless of how deeply people may go into trance in hypnosis and however passive they may appear to be, they actually remain in full control the whole time.

The client is fully able to talk if they wish to – or not as the case may be and can stand up and leave the room at any time.

Is it like stage hypnosis?

Most people have watched Hypnotists on stage getting people to do all sorts of embarrassing things. Unlike stage hypnotism, hypnotherapy is a therapeutic alliance in which the client’s health and well being is the therapist’s main concern.  The therapist cannot make you do anything you would not want to do.

What is it like?

It is according to my clients, a deeply relaxing experience rather like going into a daydream . Clients can expect to hear my voice the whole time as I lead them through peaceful and pleasant visual imagery.

Counselling or hypnotherapy?

Sometimes clients are unsure which would best help their problems -  hypnotherapy or counselling. During the initial consultation, I help clients to come to this decision themselves dependant upon their own situation.  Counselling skills and techniques are also used within a hypnotherapy session as a matter of course.
